Rouge Child

What is the government doing, and how should we handle it as Americans?

“Ok…so who put these idiots in power?” I said again…to the dog; who was riding shotgun with me on my way to my first client that morning.

I was listening to the morning AM radio station once again, and once again trying NOT to foam at the mouth as I kept hearing about all the absolute ridiculous and absurd legislation our government continues to pass in the name of helping the “middleclass”.

The dog looked at me again with his big sad eyes, groaned and laid back down in his usual spot on the passenger seat beside me.  I was furious, he knew it, and if he could talk it would sound something like, “Ya’ know Dad…Yawn…Stretch…you’ll die from your blood pressure being that high if you keep listening to that stuff.  You should learn to relax more.”  Well, I guess I am a bit high-strung…

But I kept thinking to myself, if I ever have grandchildren, they will be paying for all this stupidity, and it’s spreading around the American Government like a bad disease!  At least a disease explains some of the policy’s that are being made; Ridiculous spending packages, more rules instead of more freedoms, bigger government producing a people that are more and more dependent on them.  How did we get here???

Remember the days when your dad gave you some money for doing chores around the house? No taxes were taken out you earned and kept EVERY bit of it.  What a concept!  You were being taught how to work, and be responsible for your money.  In return…for being a hard working young kid you were allowed to take that money and do whatever it is that you saw fit with it.  But the day you became lazy, the trash didn’t make it outside to the barrel, the bathroom didn’t get cleaned, the dog didn’t get fed…you didn’t get your money on Friday when dad got home.  It taught you something.  It taught you that you had to be responsible.  That you had to take initiative to get your work done and done right, in order to receive some of those worn out pieces of paper with Washington’s picture on it.
