Senate Accountibility
Thoughts on the new Congress to come.
While I cannot honestly say that I was thrilled with the results of the recent midterm elections. I would also not be true to myself if said that I was not interested in seeing just how this new influx of Congressmen would turn out.
First and foremost, a fair number of these new Republicans in the House are not mainstream Republican, they are those within the Tea Party movement. And with those within this new faction of the GOP, there are but two major results that will result from their inclusion into the House. Either they will forsake their stance on government spending and side with the very people who embody the worst of the principles upon which they are against, or side with the enemy for short.

Or they will vote against their “allies” and prevent much of the GOP’s agenda from taking place. Which will cause in fighting and if the Democrats actually posses some courage and zeal, they may be able to capitalize on rebuilding their base, and furthering their own agenda.
Effectively, what the Republicans have done is raise a rabid dog, beating it, mocking it, torturing it, to what they feel is their own good. They have taught this dog that another group is responsible for the creature’s disposition. And now they feel that this creature, which as won a few of its many electoral battles, they feel that they are in a position of advantage.
They’re not.
Anything that has been raised by anger and wrath will undoubtedly turn against their master if they ever get the chance. And what will result from this strike will be the GOP and the Tea Party seperating into two parties. And if that doesn’t happen then people within the Tea Party rank will see their representatives as traitors to their cause. And it does not take a great imagination to comprehend with will happen once that happens.
Regardless of how the party splits, the creation of the Tea Party from within the Republican party’s base was a blunder of a great porportion. And despite having some Democrats come into their ranks, and prasing themselves as being non-biased, they are, and in the most horrendous of sense. And having “allied” themselves with the Republican party. This will only result in a party split, one in which the GOP could be paying for for years to come.
