So I found out tonight that the social assistance program, or welfare, is really quite useless. For a 4 person family, they could receive up to $1118. Now, can anyone tell me how that is going to cover all monthly expenses? News flash…it won’t!

Bills, childcare, rent/mortgage, groceries, misc…this goes way over the alotted “allowance”. And then the Social system will tell you that you must get a job (or be looking for employment). And while on this program, a person can not own a vehicle, which then they must rely on some other form of transit. So there is yet another cost.

And for ppl looking for assistance, financial or otherwise, it is quite difficult to get a person to respect you and treat you like a human being. It is the job of the Social Worker to help a person out…do so in a respectable yet professional manner.
