Twist Puns Back in Fashion as The Federal Reserve Strives to Improve Economic Outlook
There are currently too many posts for the recession blog, can you send me titles for other blogs??
At its latest policy meeting, the Federal Reserve Open Market Committee has flexed its muscle but the markets are not impressed. Touting their duel mandate of fostering maximum employment and price stability, the Fed has the nation’s analysts charged with covering the economic outlook twisting in doubt over its chosen accounting solutions.
The economic outlook appears little improved by the Feds maneuver as Republicans are upset that they failed to heed their financial advice. They are bully on agency mortgage-backed securities and are resigned, contrary to their mandate, to continued high unemployment.
With his campaign rhetoric heating up the many debates over how to change the economic outlook, according to Republican Presidential hopeful Rick Perry, the Fed has just committed treason. The eBook ‘Secrets of the Federal Reserve’ concurs.
Such concerns are all water under the bridge after Congress itself authorized during the early twentieth century the great power to oversee and control the economy now exercised by the Fed in the Federal Reserve Act. How did the country ever get along without the Fed? Famously I hear.
There are certainly those that are quite fed up with the Fed but by now it would seem to be too late to do anything about it. All of this power to control the nation’s purse strings is concentrated in a private body with little oversight and less public control then may be warranted, if Thomas Jefferson and the Constitution are to be believed.
