United Nations

The helpful hand extended by the UN.

There have been many examples of justice over the past few decades, and one of the most influential organizations that deal with international justice is the United Nations. The United Nations was founded in 1945, and it was established to replace the league of Nations. Since then it has been providing international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and most importantly aimed at achieving of world peace. As of right now it has 192 countries involved.

Their main judicial organ is the International Court of Justice, in which they handle international, which is like our supreme court, but for the world. The United Nations also discusses international arguments such as disputes between countries. Some famous cases that the United Nations has reviewed include treaties, something wrong with a countries government (such as hostage taking), and etc.  I believe that the United Nations is a good example of today’s examples of justice, because first of all they not only settle ordinary cases they also settle treaties. Throughout this they enforce the cases with their justice. Not only is it a court, but it is also like a charity. The United Nations even does things like fights for human rights and giving to the needy. With its many participating members it exercises not only justice in court, but justice to everyone by having the participating nations work together to give to those nations who have none. These are just a few of many reasons why I believe that this organization, which is aimed at getting closer to that utopia society that we all dream to live in, is a perfect example.
