Who is the Next Victim of Government Spying?
The surveillance capabilities of the U.S government, and how they affect any and all of us.
The American surveillance community’s original purpose was vital to the security of this nation, guarding not invading. When surveillance information is passed on beyond the eyes of those who are responsible it is an invasion. When innocent citizens are wire tapped and spied on by the government with out a warrant it is invasion. The reason America has invested its money in to surveillance is to protect our liberties, not take them away. Citizens have a right to privacy no matter what they are up to. Even if a suspected terrorist is spied on by the government without a warrant it is unjust. This country is based on a certain system which is valued by the people of this nation and if the government can find a reason to justly invade one person they can find a reason to invade everyone. America was built on its constitutional rights and federal invasion of privacy eliminates any rights Americans have. Without rights and without principle why even make efforts to protect and guard America.
The use of Surveillance in American Society has been compromised into a whole other agenda and does not provide the protection it was originally intended to. The whole point of technology is to further the successes of the human race not imprison it. Americans vote for their leaders and representatives because they trust them to protect and serve their best interests. But politicians are only human and they get power hungry and obsessive over certain topics. Since 9/11 security has been a major topic and many government officials have admitted to being open on invading privacy and violating other human and American rights to so called “protect” America. Originally surveillance’s purpose was to protect us not invade privacy using satellite technology, listening to conversations, reading emails, gathering personal information, and many more complicated methods. The whole idea has now hurt America. America should focus more on improving its image and putting its funds into more productive means.
The truth is America has been run on fear for the past 8 years. Fear allows an individual to give up his long term security for his current security. Its only human nature, everyday there is news of an attack some were caused by some anti-America group. And with the government constantly tightening security and preaching that the world is out to attack America one may overlook his civil liberties which in fact protect him has a human being. Giving up freedom to keep ones life to many is the path taken. Many do not realize it but when one ignores the fact that his life can be looked into at anytime and his privacy, his family’s privacy means nothing he allows himself to be de-humanized. The loss of personal freedom is greater then the loss of personal life. Why live if you cannot be free? The government has put the people at risk by supposedly fighting the enemy. The risk is the loss of freedom and the loss of what America means. Surveillance is only the beginning; it leads to a greater more destructive path of ending liberty. America’s government has created a no win situation. Either be eliminated by terrorists or have the American system which the country lives by be eliminated just so we can stay alive. At this point the American government invades privacy to guard inside the borderlines but at any point the government is capable of going way past the line of necessary surveillance traveling into the area of pure invasion.

Have you read George Orwell’s 1985? Big brother is watching!I live in Canada. We send all of our terrorists your way. There’s nothing going on here that they would be interested in.
