DIN number or Director’s Identification Number is not known by many people but it is vital to know about DIN number if you are planning to have your own company and be a managing director. DIN number is mandatory for any individual who wants to be a managing director of a company and without DIN number it is not possible to do so.

To be a managing director of a running company there are other documents like board resolution etc. required but DIN number is required for an individual to be a managing director.

To apply for DIN number documents such as your passport copy is enough and after applying for DIN number with Indian Government you have to submit your documents to Noida office. Once you have submitted your documents and forms within 15-20 days your DIN number will be activated. While it is not activated you can check your DIN number status in Indian Government website and it will be in provisional status if not yet activated.
