1776.

After Boston Harbor was flavored with tea, after the blood bath at Bunker Hill

A congress of Continentals met to discuss life, liberty and property.

John Locke laid the foundations for these ideas many years ago.

Jefferson being a learnt decided this was the way to go.

With a heavy heart he took the quill to ink then to paper and wrote.

With the fallen still fresh in memory Jefferson wrote with their blood as much as with his ink.

Following evacuation day, the victory over the British navy in Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina and at Fort Moultrie, South Carolina

Jefferson scribed that these truths are self evident.

In Lexington and Concord the shot was heard around the world, the Minute Men defended the Cannon and Powder.

On July 4th 1776 ratification rang the bells of liberty that day.

The committee formed by Franklin, Jefferson and John Adams had created the document that separated the colonies

 John Hancock with his signature big enough so old George doesn’t have to put on his spectacles to read it

Washington with a fresh army and a clear head pushes forward
