American Revolution

This resulted in the war between the thirteen colonies in North American continent and the British. The war later became global when other countries allied with the Americans against the British power. According to a research approximately forty to forty-five percent of population of these thirteen colonies took part in the war against the British. While fifteen to twenty percent of the population remained loyal to the British and the remaining remained neutral taking neither sides. The Americans had a great advantage when other countries joined them and were eventually successful in their mission of getting independence of their nation. The British lost the war because of many reasons which proved to be beneficial for the Americans. Firstly, British were fighting away from their homeland and Americans were fighting in their homeland. The land for British was new but Americans were local. They were aware of all the local problems and tackled them easily. Secondly, British had communication problems they had to wait for the orders from London. Finally, British had a problem of manpower. They did not had enough manpower to hold the places they captured. This war made the local of different colonies to come together and united themselves against the British forces. Where as, in the Civil War the slaves struggled for their independence. Their struggle proved to be successful and they were freed by the thirteenth amendment which was forwarded on 6th December 1865.In both wars the struggle of the people did not went in vain but proved that anything is possible if done with motivation and hard work. As it is said “great victory needs great sacrifices”.
