I would just like to say to everyone who referred to the nazis as them responsible for disrespecting the ancient meaning of the swastika as wrong. It was all Hitler. The nazi soldiers had nothing to do with it. They just did their job, as any other soldier would for their country, not figure out what to decorate the flag with. It was hitlers dictatorship not the peoples. dont forget that most of germany didn\’t even know about the concentration camps. It was a secret mission within the SS lead by Hitler. Don\’t assume nazis all as a whole in on it together. Just as most of you said, do your research.

Excellent article , I know swasthika is deeply rtelated to hindus and hindus are the oldest civilisation , but good to see some of the latter religions have adopted this trend great article interesting to read

why you guys come with conclusions as if you know it to be true? The Swastika comes from Vedic civilization and not from anywhere else. One thing you are forgetting, people who originated it are very ancient [9000yrs -10000 yrs] and almost most of those cultures are the descendants of those ancient peoples. Don’t disrespect your ancestors, what you are thinking as foreign and alien might turn out to belong to your own forefathers.

Buddhist, Shintoism and other ‘Dharma’ based religions have roots in Hinduism and thus have adopted the Swastika. Swastika has 2 words, Swast which means health and ika = ‘have’ or ‘be in’. It basically means good health. Thus most houses in India have have the Swastika painted outside the door. Please conduct proper research before you blog. You are misleading readers.

i learned something new tonight, not that the symbol has been around a long time but not only cultures but a lot of different religions…jewish religion shocked me. its shows people how smart Hitler really was…..only if he was not using it to weed out the people he thought were not “fit”. but i have a new out look on the swastika.
