Obama Administration No Reply: As Another Border Patrol Agent Murdered

As the southern borders of the US remain under assault, yet another law enforcement agent dies. Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry, was killed near Nogales, Arizona ironically on the very day that Janet Napolitano addressed Arizona police chiefs and sheriffs on a conference call. This all important call was for the purpose of Napolitano announcing what improvements and additional support has been provided by her administration.

According to Sheriff Babeu whatever the Obama administration has done was not near enough as he faces the insurmountable challenges in embattled Pinal County under his jurisdiction. Located in South central Arizona just 70 miles north of the Mexican border, Pinal County is part of the territory which makes up the busy drug cartel corridor where illegal drug traffic pours northward into the United States. 

Sheriff Paul Babeu who is also the president of the Sheriff’s Association of Arizona, says he must be on Janet Napolitano’s and Barack Obama’s, “no call” list. Pointing out that federal support for his jurisdiction has amounted to 30 National Guardsmen and 15 posted signs warning the public of the danger from drug cartel activity, Sheriff Babeu says that it has not been enough. The sheriff was not included in Napolitano’s conference call either since he does not agree with the Obama administration’s apathetic approach to protecting the state’s borders.

“What we really need,” Sheriff Babeu stated, “is 6,000 armed troops. Then we need to build and complete the double barrier fence that he suspended (referring to Obama). We need to enforce the laws. You come into America, you’re breaking America’s laws. Your are then apprehended and formally deported. You come back into our country illegally again and you are imprisoned. Those three things will secure our borders.” He told Fox news.

With 600 million dollars supposedly appropriated for border defense by the Obama administration, many sheriffs and law enforcement officials claim that they have seen little in the way of improvements. There are reports of Middle Eastern terrorists entering South America and then crossing the borders between the US and Mexico. It would seem that the plan is already in place for our nation to absorb another major tragedy when one refers to a past comment by the President which stated that, “America is strong enough to withstand another 9-11.”

With our nation reeling from unemployment, bank failures, soaring deficit spending, federal government attacks on personal freedoms, the health care fiasco, and proposed tax increases, is it really any surprise that Obama’s agenda seems to point to punishing the United States of America?
