Barack Hussein Obama, The Infant President

When Barack Obama took the office as President of the United States in 2008, he was known as the man who could bring “hope and change”.  Finally we had bridged the racial divide by electing a black man into office, something unimaginable not half a century ago.  For the vast majority of U.S. citizens however, “hope and change” proved to be a campaign slogan that was simply rhetoric and nothing more.

Obama’s presidency has largely been a disappointment for the vast majority of U.S. citizens.  He has ignored the African American community.  He has made colossal mistakes such as his racially charged comments about white police officers which led to the “Beer Summit” as it is colloquially referred.  Obama later apologized, admitting his mistake as regrettable.  The president who was supposed to bring unity to the nation between blacks and whites has failed miserably.

Obama promised to close Guantanamo Bay (Gitmo) yet it is still up and running.  Another broken promise.  Obama sought to strengthen age discrimination in the Employment Act…broken promise!  He promised to negotiate a political agreement on Cyprus…failed!  He promised a new and peaceful relationship with Iran…now it looks like we’re about to go to war.  He promised less meddling in world affairs through military force, yet we became involved in Libya.  That he would help bring peace to the Middle East…now it is in massive turmoil the likes of which the world has never seen.  He promised to pull out all troops from Iraq and yet we still have troops there who are nothing more than target practice from an ongoing terrorist problem.  Obama promised to “reset” relations with Russia and of course that has turned out to be a massive joke of a failure.  He promised to go through the budget “line by line” to weed out excessive spending and waste.  Several years later he is guilty of having increased the budget more than 40 previous presidents all together! 

Unfortunately President Obama has failed us on almost every one of his campaign promises.  He has proved himself to the United States and to the world as a floundering, bumbling oaf of a leader with a sea of broken promises and failures behind him.  He has damaged our relationship with our once great allies, Great Britain and Israel.  He has failed to provide more opportunities for students, once again, as he promised.  The list goes on and on and on however my fingers would only tire of typing the vast list of his failures.  The one thing he has absolutely succeeded in is…getting a basketball hoop installed in the White House.  How wonderful!  Sigh.
