Michelle Obama in a speech at the DNC on Monday night says her husbands is the best choice since he understands the struggles of the average American, the American dream going through such life himself.
First Lady Michelle Obama for the first time mentioned the name of her husband’s opponent in her speech at the DNC on Monday night citing the sharp contrast between the two. Mrs. Obama was quick to mention her husband understands the struggles of the average American because he had lived through tough times too.
“Barack knows the American Dream because he’s lived it” she said. In the speech meant to echo her husband’s legislative accomplishments in the last four years, she added that he equal opportunity should be given to everyone irrespective of race, colour or gender and that it was about time the average American who has worked so hard be given the opportunity to that the successful were also given.
The president’s push for health care reform, the auto industry bailout and efforts to keep down student loan interest rates were some of the achievements Michelle considered key of her husband.
With teary eyes the first lady reminded people of the working class of which her husband and she came from of the struggles of their background mentioning her dad who was a pump operator in Chicago and her husband who was raised by a single mother and grandparents.
Mrs. Obama emphasized the fact that traits such as dignity decency, honesty, humility, respect and integrity which her husband learnt in his hard times growing up are what his husband does and will continue to employ to give each and every one equal opportunity.
She added the it’s the sacrifices of many that has ensured some have reached higher heights and its about time the many who have sacrificed for others also be supported to move ahead as its that sacrifice that as been the story of American dream, the first lady said. “That is what has made my story, and Barack’s story, and so many other American stories possible.”
