Barack Obama Was Not Born In The United States Therefore Is Not Eligible To Be President Of The United States?

There have been numerous conspiracy theories about the citizenship of the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama.  These conspiracy theories say that since Barack Obama isn’t a natural born citizen of the United States he is therefore not eligible to be President as requirement in order to be President of the United States. Interestingly they claim that Barack Obama, being president of the United States is way illegal due to the fact that he was not born in the United States.

Some of these theories allege that Obama was not born in Hawaii – the U.S but Kenya. Other conspiracy theories also allege that Barack Obama is a citizen of Indonesia and that his birth certificate is a fake.  

Incredibly, the conspiracy theories kept on growing and insisting on the notion Obama isn’t a natural born citizen even though Barack Obama’s birth certificate was released to the public by his election campaign team.

Even though the Obama birth certificate shown to the general public was certified by the Hawaii Department of Health, the conspiracy theorists say that he has not released an original copy of the birth certificate but rather a photocopy.

Here is what the Obama team said about the rumors of his citizenship when they released his birth certificate:  These rumors “aren’t actually about that piece of paper — they’re about manipulating people into thinking Barack is not an American citizen.”

Some of the theorists even claimed that the Barack Obama birth certificate shown to the public had been forged digitally with the computer program Adobe Photoshop.

These conspiracy theories are believed to be fueled mainly by Obama’s political opponents and the usual fringe theorists sometimes known as “birthers”. Some of these people have even taken the matter as high as filing a lawsuit that aimed to stop Barack Obama from being President of the United States. All of the lawsuits filed have been rejected by the courts of the United States.

Barack Obama finally gave a formal response on his citizenship issue on the 29th of August last year during an interview. He said: “There is a mechanism, a network of misinformation that in a new media era can get churned out there constantly………..I can’t spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead.”
