After a clean sweep of five primaries (primary) Republican Party on Tuesday (4/24/2012), Mitt Romney stressed his determination to win the White House of President Barack Obama.
Romney easily won primaries in five states, namely Connecticut, Delaware, New York, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. With the win, his chances to become a candidate for president of the Republic no longer be contained.
Giving a speech in front of his supporters in Manchester, New Hampshire, Tuesday, Romney declared the challenge to Obama. “Hold on a minute, a better America starts tonight,” he said.
With confidence Romney is no longer talking about competition in the Republic, but directly attacking Obama, the prospective opponent in the upcoming November elections.
“Tonight is the beginning of the end of the disappointments of the Obama years and will be the beginning of a new round would be better that we wrote together,” he said.
He said Obama only gave “false promises and weak leadership.” “Wherever I go, tell the American people are tired, and were lucky enough to still have jobs must work harder to get a little bit,” he said.
“The last few years this is the best I can do Barack Obama, but not the best the Americans,” he said to cheering supporters.
With the 14 remaining primaries, Romney is now projected to have collected 750 of the 1144 delegates needed to get the Republican nomination.
It seems like it has been impossible overtaken by rivals in the Republic. Santorum who has retreated from the race only has 260 delegates. While the two rivals who still survive, namely Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, even fewer. Gingrich, who collected 137 delegates, while Paul is only 75.
When Romney asserted challenge, the Obama campaign to capture the voice of the students at the University of North Carolina, University of Colorado Boulder, and University of Iowa.
The universities were located in three states in which he only narrowly won the election in 2008. In the 2012 elections is North Carolina, Colorado, and Iowa was still regarded as a tough battle.
