Biden Being Paid by Secret Service for Protecting Him

Today an article by Fox News reported that the Secret Service for protection actually pays Vice-President Joe Biden. Or I should say that he is paid rent for them staying on his property while protecting his family and his self. This seems very strange to me.

The Secret Service pays Joe Biden, who is listed as a vendor for the Secret Service. They pay him $2,200 monthly for rent of a cottage with a possible $66,000 total payout. It was reported that Biden’s mother, before her death, lived there until she died.

We as taxpayers understand that our tax money pays for security for the President, Vice-President, families, ex-presidents and other people that are at risk and needs additional protection. But can’t Joe give a little for them protecting him? Even though it is legal, some Taxpayer Watchdogs are wondering why Biden would charge rent for his own protection.

The cottage located in Wilmington, Del is next to Biden’s waterfront home. Now I do agree with some that if the Secret Service were based close to the proximity of the Vice-President, then it would be easier to respond in case of a problem with more agents. But when you put money in the hand of someone that is paid to do you a service, they in turn they become responsible to you and not the citizens who pay their salary.

I agree that Biden and his family needs the protection that is given to him, but Joe, you should set an example. You preach daily about the economy but yet you take advantage of it. You talk about reckless spending, but yet you want to get paid for a service that you get for free. This sounds very much like a Democrat sir!

This story will most likely change over the next few days but one question I have that I really don’t understand. While protecting certain elected officials, secrets and security procedures are key to success. So why is the government agencies tell every idiot, terrorist, or unstable person that if you want to get to Joe Biden, take out his cottage first? That’s where his security is. This information leakage seems to becoming a pattern in Washington.

All I can say is Joe, if you need the money, I would rather see you collect a rent check instead of being on welfare. But I would be a good landlord and make sure you give what you promise. Making these tenants mad might just make a difference in your life.
