Bombing in Curacao

This is an article about a historical bobimg in 1942.

RECENT BOMBING IN CURACAO

This is the year 1942, during World War II, and the island of Curacao just off the coast of Venezuela recently has been bombed! Phillip Enright Sr., who works in one of the oil refineries of Curacao, said: “There must be three of the German submarines, because there have been three attacks in three different places.” The German submarines are targeting the oil refineries and oil tankers of Curacao, because they are trying to stop them from making aviation gas for ally planes. Six oil tankers have been bombed so far. Phillip Enright Sr. has also been working sleepless nights to help fight fires.

His son, Phillip Enright Jr., and wife, Mrs. Enright, left on a ship called the S.S. Hato to Miami, Florida then they will go on a train to Norfolk, Virginia. A lot of people say that it is very dangerous to travel by sea these days because there is a risk of being bombed.
