Brits Call Barack Obama a smart Alec
by It seems that the Brits think of Barack Obama as a bit of a “smart alec”.

Last week when President Obama was visiting the United Kingdom the UK police force gave him the codename ‘Chalaque’, which the UK Daily Mail reported. It seems the term reportedly a Punjabi word meaning that someone is too smart for their own good.

A Punjabi speaker told the newspaper that the word is not as rude as everyone is making it out to be. A Scotland Yard insider told the press that codenames are randomly generated by computer. Although a new less offensive codename could have been picked, officials decided to stick with this name.
To others this could be seen as the Brits fearing President Barack Obama. The other thing is that codenames never stay the same for long.
