They themselves had built interceptors to counter the threat of American Bombers. The Bomarcs were already obsolete, as were the F-101 Voodoo fighters. ("the most dangerous aircraft ever owned by the RCAF") <br /> The Americans yet again took control out of fear of us having a better aircraft, killing it through the cancellation of the ASTRA fire control system, and Sparrow missles, then forcing us to purchase the BOMARCS.
