Catholics Figure Out Obama and Disapprove- Chris Matthews Nervous

Catholic voters are a swing vote in Presidential elections. With the recent uproar of President Obama and the Catholic Church over birth control, most Catholics are disapproving of Obama and this will cause him trouble in the general election. Chris Matthews, an MSNBC host and big Obama fan, is warning Obama that he is in trouble with this swing vote.

Here is the link to the article which shows that almost 3 in 5 voters that claim to be Catholic now disapprove of President Obama.  Remember, Catholics voted for Obama in 2008 over John McCain 54-45 which was essentially the same margin by which Obama carried won the whole election.  Catholics are swing voters and many of them are in swing states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.  A significant change in this vote could spell disaster for Obama and his re-election chances.

Anyone paying attention to the news over the last couple of weeks has noticed that Obama stepped in it when he and his “Catholic” cabinet secretary, Kathleen Sebelius required the Catholic Church to pay for birth control for their women employees in complete contradiction to Catholic dogma.  Even when the Catholic Church was hijacked by modernists in Vatican Council II in the 1960’s, the Church maintained its opposition to artificial birth control with the bull, Humane Vitae from Paul VI in 1968.  The Church cannot fund what it finds to be sinful.  But Obama worships at the altar of birth control and abortion.  Of course, many birth control methods are abortofacients which means that they kill babies right after they are conceived as opposed to devices that simply prevent conception.

Chris Matthews runs his Hardball show on MSNBC every night.  I watch it because he is funny with his liberal agenda and his tingle up his leg because he loves Obama so much.  Matthews claims to be Catholic when he supports abortion rights and birth control.  Matthews seems to worship Obama more than Jesus.  Anyway, Matthews knows that the Obama White House has stepped in it with this birth control issue.  Yes, almost every one uses birth control.  But people do not want the government telling the Church to pay for it.  This is going to piss off swing Catholics.  In addition, issues like this will unite libertarians and conservatives under the Republican brand.  If Republicans and Libertarians unite, Obama will lose.  Matthews knows this and is warning Obama not to piss off Catholics.  It is also not helping Obama that Rick Santorum, a conservative Catholic, is moving to the front of the Republican race.

It is going to be interesting if Obama can get himself out of this mess he himself made.  This is just further sign he is in trouble in November.

With the republican candidates, I still think he will win come November.

I think Intrade has Obama at about 60% to win re-election. If nominee is Paul or Santorum, Republicans may win. If Romney is nominee or Gingrich, not a prayer for Reps.

Good article. Aside from the religious infringement, what really stood out was the insistence on “free” contraception and abortafacients. This is core left-wing ideology. The Catholic Church seems to be an inconvenient stumbling block…
