Celebrity Deaths in 2010
Here we take a look at some of the famous prople from stage and screen that took their final bow in 2010.
January
Teddy Pendergrass, 59, American soul singer who died on the 13th of January at the age of 59 and Zelda Rubinstein who had roles in the movie “Poltergeist” along with a recurring role in the TV show “Picket Fences”, she died on January 27th at the age of 76.
February
Ian Carmichael a British Veteran of stage and screen, died on February 5th at the age of 89. February also saw the death of Lionel Jeffries who starred in the movie “Chitty chitty bang bang” as the father of the lead character “Caractacus Potts”. He died on February 19th aged 83.
March
On March the 10th at the early age of 38, Corey Haim died of pneumonia. Corey was famous for his appearances in movies “The Lost Boys”, “Merlin” and “Dream Machine”.
March the 14th saw the death of Peter Graves, he will be most remembered as the lead in the 60’s TV show “Mission Impossible” and as the hapless pilot in the movie “Airplane”. Peter was 83 years old.
On March 24th at the age of 79 Robert Culp died as a result of a fall. He was famous for many TV and movie appearances including “Everybody Loves Raymond”, “Columbo” and “I Spy”.
April
April saw the sad farewell to another screen legend. On April 1st at the age of 92 veteran actor John Forsythe died of complications from pneumonia, John was memorable for his roles in “Dynasty” and “Charlie’s Angels”.
April also saw the death of British Actor Corin Redgrave and American Actress Dixie Carter.
Dixie had regular appearances in the TV shows, “Designing Women” and “Diff’rent Strokes”, both were aged 70 at the time of their deaths.
May
Speaking of “Diff’rent Strokes”, May 2010 brought the death of the shows leading actor, Gary Coleman who at 42 years old , suffered a fatal brain hemorrhage on the 28th.
The very next day , the 29th of May saw the death of one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors. Dennis Hopper found fame alongside Peter Fonda in the seminal Road movie “Easy Rider” He went on to play memorable characters in “Blue Velvet”,”Speed” and “Water World”. He was 74 years old at the time of his death from cancer.
June
June saw the sad departure of one of “The Golden Girls” Veteran stage and screen actress Rue McClanahan who made famous the role of man eating “Blanche Devereaux”. She died on the 3rd of June aged 76 as the result of a stroke.

Every year sees the passing of some of the great stars of the past as well as one or two from the present. sad to see them go but most of them had a good long life.
