Celebrity Deaths in 2010

Here we take a look at some of the famous prople from stage and screen that took their final bow in 2010.

July 

July saw the deaths of 54 year old Jamaican Reggae Singer, Sugar Minott and 70 year old Actor James Gammon who appeared in the movies “Major League” and “Siverado”,

August.

August saw the departures of;

Makh Daniels an American heavy metal singer  with the group “Early Graves”, he died in a car accident on August 2, he was 28 years old.

August the 9th saw the death of 70 year old American character actor George DiCenzo who appeared in “Close Encounters of the Third kind” and “Helter Skelter”.

August 15th saw the last curtain call of 53 year old musician, Robert Wilson of the group “The Gap Band”.

September

On the 8th of September Rich Cronin who sung with the group “Lyte Funkie Ones” died at the age of 36 from a stroke related to leukemia. 

On September 26th, at the ripe old age of 100, Silver screen siren Gloria Stuart died, she will be remembered for her many movie appearances including “The Invisible Man” and more recently as the old Rose in “Titanic” A role for which they had to make her up to look older.

On September 29th a screen legend took his final bow. At the age of 85 and with the movies “Some like it Hot”,”Spartacus”,” The Boston Strangler” and “Monte Carlo or Bust” to his credit, Tony Curtis ranks amongst one of the “Hollywood Greats”.

October

October 4th saw the passing of British comedy legend, Sir Norman Wisdom while on the 19th of October the great Tom Bosley took his final curtain call. Tom will be remembered for his roles in
“Happy Days”, “Father Dowling Mysteries” and “Murder she wrote”. Tom was 83 years old.

October 28th saw the passing of James MacArthur who appeared as Danno in the TV police drama “Hawaii Five-O”. He also starred in the movie “Swiss Family Robinson”. He was 72.

November

On November 5th Actress Jill Clayburgh died from chronic leukemia, Jill made appearances in  “Ally McBeal” and “Dirty Sexy Money”. She was 66

On 27th November the director of “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back” Irvin Kershner
died at the age of 87.

On the same day, we said goodbye to one of our most loved comedy actors. At the age of 84 and having starred in many films including “Forbidden Planet”,”Creepshow” and “All I Want for Christmas”. Leslie Nielsen will perhaps be best remembered for his portrayal of Detective Frank Drebin in the “Naked Gun trilogy”. Leslie was 84.

We will miss them .

    Every year sees the passing of some of the great stars of the past as well as one or two from the present. sad to see them go but most of them had a good long life.
