Comparing the Gulf War and the Iraqi War
The political, economical and social consequences and benefits of Iraqi war and the gulf war and how it transformed the American military forever.
Just by studying these two aspects of we can see that already there is a division and there are many things to compare when looking at these two wars. But these 2 aspects played a big role in both wars and still do (due to the ongoing Iraqi Freedom Operation in Iraq). The Gulf war and Iraqi War (Gulf War II) were mainly headed by the U.S. (with the exception of U.K. in the Iraqi war because they did contribute heavily but no so much as the U.S. and the other small exceptions are Australia, Poland and few other U.S. allies). Both of these aspects show us that Iraqi war and gulf war had its consequences and benefits, politically, economically, and militaririly. The military of the U.S mainly were able to field test many of their new products and were able to apply them to the new evolving modern military. Politically the U.S. made enemies in the Middle Eastern states with many Islamic radicals who take a negative look at the Iraqi War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Gulf war on the other hand and the liberation of Kuwait did bring U.S. some good reputation among many Arab nations because the U.S. saved them from possibly having hostile tensions with Saddam’s Iraq. Later, the situation got worse because the U.S. established bases and got contract deal with Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for oil and other resources, which greatly bolstered American economy. All in all by studying both of these aspects and considering some other results of these wars, we can easily see that Gulf war and Iraqi war both had their profound impact on the United States armed forces as well as the society which led to the world that we see today.
