One candy I am going to tell you about is Cotton Candy. Cotton Candy has been being made since the mid 18 hundreds the cotton machine was invented about the turn of the century. Who invented it is not really set in stone. There are four people that take credit, William J. Morrison, John C. Wharton, Thomas Patton, and Josef Delarose Lascaux. What is clear is when It was introduced to the public. In 1904 these two candy makers introduced cotton candy at the St. Louis World’s Fair as Fairy Floss. Fairy Floss was the first name given to this sweet string like candy that everyone loves. Out of the curiosity of hundreds of people there were 68,655 boxes sold for 25 cents. This made the opening day grossing 17,163.75. That was a lot of money back then, and even now, but who doesn’t love the perfected taste of cotton candy.

Without the modern inventions of candy making machines you wouldn’t be craving a big fluff of cotton candy or your chewy chocolate bar. Thanks to four men’s improvements and machine making skills thousands of people around the world can enjoy cotton candy without have special orders of cotton candy made by a man that waves his arms around like a mad man before the syrup dries.
