Crusaders

  Crusaders were knights who went to the crusades. The crusades were a series of holy wars launched by the pop My use was to capture Jerusalem from the Muslim and Jewish invaders then drive them out .After  I guard the land so I can protect the people.

  My name is sir john. I am 21 years old I lived from 1080 – 1190. I live in Paris France on 979 Thor ave.  My friends are King Arthur, Merlin, minstrel  and crusader .

  I wear linen and silk clothes. I have two sets of armor one for battle and another for jousting. Both sets are gold with etchings. It’s measured exactly to fit me. It’s made of separate pieces. Like the thigh plate, breast and back plates, calf plates, arm plates, gauntlets and a helmet.

  In my day if I was in battle I would be capturing, killing, sweating and taking enemies hostage. I sometimes help a little to set up camp so I can sleep. In peace time I joust which is a game were two knights charge at each other. The aim is to knock the other knight off their horse. When I was a page I had to serve meals to my lord and lady. I also practiced on a quin tan which was a wooden horse. When I turned 14 I became a squire. Then I had to practice on a real horse, polish my lords armor, help in battle and I had to practice with a Peel which was a wooden statue. At age 20 I got knighted. I also learned to read and write.

  The possessions I owned were a horse for travel and war. A sword for fighting and dubbing. Armor for protection. A spur for guiding and a stirrup for support.

 Some interesting facts are that in a battle the Muslims were throwing dead bodies so we threw dead heads back. We built lots of castles. We only had Jerusalem for 100 years during the medial period. When we reached a heavily guarded town we threw beehives over the walls and they surrendered instantly. We also discovered lemon trees. Now I need to go back in time.
