D-day, Nomandy Invasion
The Normandy Invasion (D-Day) June six 1944.
The Normandy Invasion in France was truly the largest amphibious assault of all time. It was due to the massive amounts of units produced by the Allied powers. The success at D-Day greatly affected the outcome of the war since the Allies had an open port into Europe now for their troops in America and Britain. And also, Big Red One, the Fighting First, the First Infantry Division was the main infantry division during this invasion, and helped in the outcome of the invasion greatly. Big Red One was the greatest fighting unit in the war, and D-Day was the largest amphibious assault of all time, and it also had a great affect on the outcome of the war.
