Do You Know That India Invaded Goa in 1961?

India became a free country after British rule ended in 1947.

India became a free country after British rule ended in 1947. From violence, non-violence to negotiations and agendas many ups and downs were a part of this freedom. Goa, one of the Centrally administered state in India and at present one of the hottest tourist places of the world known for its beaches and seafood had a different story to tell though.

Even when India became a free country in 1947, Goa was under the rule of Portugal and Goa liberation moment was founded for freedom from the Portugal rule through non-violence and revolution.

Goa liberation moment was started in 1940 and it took almost 20 years to make it more effective from inside Goa and also through some efforts from outside.

Goa got its freedom in 1961, only when India invaded Goa in 1961 and what followed was integration of Goa in India.
