Effects of Inventions and Technological Advances
Due to recent technological advances, machines have taken over a good amount of work once done by hand.
Also railroads have become more popular because they helped connect customers with manufacturers due to its efficiency. Ever since the Civil war, new inventions and improved technology have started the growth of industries.
Currently, the biggest inventor is Thomas Edison. Recently, he has invented many important things. They were all invented in his invention factory in New Jersey. These inventions include: the first practical electric light bulb, the phonograph, and the motion picture projector. Also, three years after inventing the light bulb, he invented the first electrical power station and distribution system in New York City. In order to make the power station work he invented the following: generators, a regulator, meters, switches, light sockets, fuse boxes, and underground electric cables. Edison is considered to have created the age of electricity.
Another big inventor is Alexander Graham Bell. He invented an extremely important item. The item is known as the telephone. This is very important because it helps suppliers, producers, sellers, and customers communicate quickly and easily. The third current big inventor is Eli Whitney. Eli invented a method of assembling a wide variety of products from interchangeable parts, which was adopted by factory owners. This method made work a lot easier and more efficient for the factory workers.
On top of these important inventions, many more improvements have made. These improvements include new nails- they changed from iron nails to a mixture of iron, carbon, and sometimes other metals (this is stronger and will last longer). Another improvement is the material of bridges. It was changed from iron to steel, and in the next few years, everything will become steel (such as in rails, locomotives, and bridges. Also steel nails, needles, and knives became very common household items).
In conclusion, there have been many effects of inventions and technological advances in the past and current years. All of these inventions and technological advances have been positive, and really helped out many different people. The growth of industry in the United States is extremely important and will really help out in the future.
