- maybe a little bit of an overstatement... during the monarchy and for hundreds of years previous there was always corruption in the church and the feudal system but it definitely wasn&#039;t chaos and if the revolution hadn&#039;t taken place it wouldn&#039;t have escalated to  the extremes of which you speak. </description>
