Facts About The Holocaust Essay
My history ISU on the Holocaust, written by Wesley Frowley.
Although the mass killing of the Jews, Gypsies and all the others killed by the Nazis in the Holocaust did not start until about 1941, the holocaust was already starting to come into place. It started in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came into power with the Nazi party. He believed that “Anyone who sees and paints a sky green and fields blue ought to be sterilized”[1]. Not all Germans believed this though. Some thought everyone was equal and deserved to live. Some, on-the-other hand, willingly killed, tortured and conducted experiments on the enemies of Germany. Whether it be by gas chambers, starving them or working them to death, 6 million Jews were killed.[2] The Holocaust was not only a horrific experience for the Jews and the whole world; it also showed the cruelty of humanity.
Adolf Hitler was born in Austria and fought in the First World War. He was injured in battle and was out of the fight when the war was lost for Germany. He blamed losing the war on the Jews, saying they had conspired against Germany. He wanted a pure Germany that only had pure Germans in it. This meant there would be no disabled people, no homosexuals and no people that they didn’t like. Hitler would somehow get rid of all these people.
When he came to power in 1933, he took away the rights of the Jews little by little, slowly dehumanizing them. They eventually had to live in small parts of the town called ghettos, but were later moved to work/concentration camps. Hitler developed a “final solution”[3] to get rid of all the Jews for good; he decided they all had to be exterminated. He had death camps such as: Auschwitz-Birkenau, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek, Sobibor, and Tremblinkabuilt; all of which were located in Poland. When his forces were finally defeated and pushed back to Berlin in 1945, he married his secret mistress Eva Braun on April 29 1945. The very next day, they committed suicide together before they were able to be captured by the Soviet’s army.

Interesting article.
Somehow the words pure & evil don’t belong in the same sentence.
Where does the Holocaust rank among the orchestrated killing lists?

According to http://www.scaruffi.com/politics/dictat.html it would rank 3rd. It is not necessarily 3rd though, when Joseph Stalin was in power there was a famine that killed millions of people. So it wasn’t really “orchestrated” but could’ve been minimized if grain was handed out instead of being sold. I hope that helps you with your question.
