Admiral “Admiral” – a film biography of Alexander Kolchak. The war, love, WWI, Civil War, Navy, hospitals, Frenchmen, Czechs, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk … They wanted to make a movie about everything, but it turned out, as usual, nothing.

When watching the movie there is a feeling kaleidoscope: there’s a war in the navy, then the ball, then again the war, and then love, then family, then love again, then again the war, and so on. The idea to pack two lines – war and love – in two hours proved too tough for the director. As a result, neither the one nor the other is not spelled out, but simply scheduled: Yes, fought Kolchak, yes, he had a love – nothing more.

It was abundantly clear that the order it was to be a patriotic movie. At any time of invocation of patriotism – the best way to influence the minds of the people. So it was with the king, and with red, and white, so it is now … This is why patriotic films have always been honored.

Unfortunately, film about patriotism without war, we have not learned, so you have to shoot about the war. But here the question arises: what about the war? Chechnya? For most people this is too far away and do not about them. We have to turn to history. The Great Patriotic War? Here, apparently, today’s filmmakers desperate to outdo their Soviet counterparts – all very touching, terrible, sentimental, tragic and patriotic already lifted, and as you might, you will still be with this comparison. A good yield in this situation looks like the Civil War. If about her films and were, by the Reds, but it is now unfashionable. Therefore, showered on us movies about noble white officers, idealized as much as the soldiers, workers and peasants in the Soviet propaganda.

I would particularly like to acknowledge the cast. Apparently, people are not really soared in the selection of the actors: they took the three main characters – Khabensky, Boyarsky and Bezrukov – a continuation of the “ironic” plus, not to introduce viewers to a screeching halt new faces, added Anna Kovalchuk. In the end, do not get rid of the feeling that before you newly Hippolytus and Anton Gorodetsky, a detective investigating Masha Shvetsov, what happens in this farce.
