Guernica by Picasso depicts the horrors of war.  A tapestry copy of the painting was removed from the UN before war on Iraq was proclaimed.  Knowing scenes like that depicted were about to be sanctioned it was deemed politic to remove the painting before unleashing George W Bush’s and Tony Blair’s “Shock and Awe” the first wave of bombs and missiles which were unleashed on Baghdad.
