Darius the great was a ruler of Persia from 521 until 486 BC. Darius introduced gold and silver coins and also built a famous road system. He spilt his empire in 20 satrapies, each ruled by a satrap.    

Tutankhamun was pharaoh of ancient Egypt from 1347 to 1339 BC. He was a boy when he became pharaoh. He died when he was only 18.

Alexander the great was born in 356 BC in Pella, capital of Macedonia. His father king Phillip II was   a tough fighter who conquered neighboring Greece. His mother was the fiery Olympia’s, who told him that he was descended from Achilles, the hero of the Iliad.

Alexander the great was a young Macedonian king who was one of the greatest general in history. He built an empire stretching from Greece to India.

Hammurabi was a great low- maker, and some of his lows were inscribed on a stone pillar, now in Louvre in Paris. One of his man laws was that ` the strong shall not oppress the weak’. There were also strong laws to punish criminals and protect people from workmanship by builders and doctors.

Justinian I was the greatest Byzantine emperor, although his general’s secretary described him as a ` demon incarnate’. He ruled with his beautiful actress wife Theodora. Justinian built hundreds of churches, including the famous Hagia Sophia.

Stephen was the first king of Hungary. He was crowed by the pope on Christmas day, AD 1000. His crown became the national symbol of Hungary.

Hannibal 247- 182 BC was the greatest general of the powerful city of cartage (Now it is near Tunis in Africa).
