How to Become a Gladiator

Have you ever wondered how you could become a gladiator? Does becoming famous and very wealthy intrigue you? Would you like to quit your job as a craftsmen or trader and make tons of Aureus? Well if you answered yes to any or all of those questions then this book is for you! It will teach you all you need to know about becoming a fierce gladiator.             The first step to becoming a gladiator is being skilled with a weapon. There are five different types of weapons you can use. Starting with the Fascina which is a harpoon, Gladius double edged sword,  Hasta lance, a Iaculum net, and Sica curved scimitar. If you want to last anytime against an opponent or wild beast it would probably be wise to know your way around one but more beneficial all of those weapons.

            Next’s it’s time to pick what type of gladiator you want to be. This is where it would come to your benefit being skilled with all those weapons because there are five different types of gladiators. Starting with the Mirmillones who are heavily armed and wear helmets decorated with fish, while the Thracians carry just a shield and scimitar, making them much quicker on their feet. The Retiarii are armed with just a net, a long trident and a dagger, and the Samnites have a sword, an oblong shield and a helmet with a visor. Finally, the Bestiarii who fight wild beasts.

            Now that you have that all picked out its time you learn the consequences of choosing this career. It’s a very dangerous career with high death rate, but if you are one of the few lucky ones that survive years in the arena the possibilities are endless. You could retire and live off the wealth you made fighting.
