Iwo Jima Flag Raising- A tale to Tell the youth about the significance of the event and the sentiments that should rise on this day 23 February

At the same day sixty five years from today, the Iwo Jima Flag Raising immortalized the five fortunate that became an iconic symbol in the U.S history.


Jack Gladstone is determined to tell this tale. The focus of the story is Louis Charlo and Jack Gladstone, the poet singer from Kalispell is going to make it an epic, Remembering Private Charlo”. The 11 minutes 45 second epic is a part of his coming CD that is expected in May this year.

The story of Louis Charlo goes back to 1943 when he was just 17 and asking her mother to let him enlist for Marines as guns were booming around him.

USS Missoula was the ship that enrooted to Iwo Jima Island and Charlo was among those who raised the first flag at Mount Suribachi.
The first foreign flag being planted at
the Japanese soil since four millennia became the sign of U.S supremacy at the island that was considered critical for Americans to launch air strikes on Japan.

The sea at Iwo Jima witnessed a four man squad doing what was considered a sure suicide, but they accomplished the task unscathed.
Louis Chuck Charlo however met his death but in another tale of heroism when he was trying to bring Ed Mc Laughlin to safety and enemy guns that missed him completely at Iwo, did not miss him and his companion to whom he was trying to save.

Gladstone says it is all about brotherhood. May American soldiers listen to his voice, it is all about brotherhood.
