Julius Caesar: A Short History
The life of Julius Caesar broken down to the key points and most important facts.
Gaius Julius Caesar was born in 100 BC. His mother, Aurelia, was said to have been apart of the ancient royal family. His father, Gaius Caesar, was supposedly a god. While Caesar’s family may seem powerful and important, they had no real power or influence during this time period.
Caesar slowly rose to power after the dictator Sulla died in 78 BC. His first position of power was on the staff of a military legate. He worked his way through many military campaigns and gradually became more recognized by the people. After King Mithridates died Pompey, Caesar, and Crassus formed a loose coalition called The First Triumptive which later became known as “the three headed monster. The members of the alliance soon turned on one another and Caesar became hated by Crassus and Pompey.
Caesar was forced to leave Rome for nine years in which Pompey took over Rome. Pompey soon switched his allegiance to the Optimates faction due to the death of Caesars daughter and his wife, which left nothing to tie the two together. Caesar was quick to react and summoned 21,000 troops to take Pompey down. Pompey’s army fell and he fled to Egypt.
All prisoners, including Brutus, Pompey’s son, were pardoned. Caesar was crowned emporer of Rome and later over thrown by a faction of soldiers whom Caesar had pardoned from the conflict with Pompey.

At the moment i am doing an assement task for History we had a list to choose from of about 7. the one i chose was The Life and death of Julius Caesar i did not look at the rest as that topic was the only one there. As Gauis Julis Caesar once sed “For my part, I had rather be the first man among these fellows than the second man in Rome.”
And as i say thankyou for helping me out.

kinda helpful…some of ur info is inaccurate though..for instance, the “loose coalition that they formed” was called the first Triumvirate, not the first triumptive…..
