In the 16th century, religion was very important to the community of England. Some of the reasons why the religion changed like it did is that King Henry the 8th wanted a divorce from Catherine of Aragon. Divorce was against the Roman Catholic church. He created his own church called Anglican church also known as the church of England. Anglican is the most widely practiced religion in England and Wales. Religion today is different your allowed getting divorced in a catholic church just your not allowed to get married again in a catholic church. The Pope doesn’t have as much responsibility as he did have during the 16th century but he does still share his wisdom about the catholic church but the Pope is considered the leader of the catholic church.
