Let’s Build Strong Tomorrow’s Today!
by A poem about taking yesterday’s lessons and turning them into a brighter future for new generation’s to build upon.
I submitted this original poem about the choices we make every day cause regrets or rewards and how they affect us all forever. I wanted my children to always learn to choose to do the right thing. My poem was published in “Poetic Voices of America–Fall 1998″ I own a copy. It is on page 200, and I wrote it for my children and dedicated it to them “and to all the rest of the world’s children of today and tomorrow.” I hope you enjoy it and really absorb its message and pay it forward…it is still my heart today….
“A brand new day begins again,
And yesterday is gone.
An untouched, new beginning waits
For us to build upon.
What will we choose? What will we do?
With the hope each new day brings?
For we realize the future bright comes
Not untouched by yesterday’s stings.
Yesterday’s choices built the foundation
Of today both weak and strong.
And what we choose for this new day
Dictates how tomorrow comes along.
As generations follow behind us
Succeeding you and me
Know the decisions that we make today
Will be their history.
Right choices may we select this day
For our tomorrows may be few
Remembering the lives of those to come
For their future is molded by me and you.”
