Medieval religious life influenced gastronomical habits in this age. In Middle Age the growth of towns generated the need for fast food.

Particular trend of Medieval epoque was the relation of food and religion. According to Christian Calendar, eating meat was forbidden on certain days and Jewish Calendar had prohibition days to eat and drink at all.

During 146 days of Christian Calendar fish replaced meat and vegetable fat was used mainly.

Jewish fast food days were rare but strict. On these days all food was prohibited. One of these days was Yom Kippur.

Jewish people lived in communities and these Jewish communities kept their kosher food, kashruth. Kasruth food storing is not very well known in nowdays.

These kasruth food storage have not changed in our days.
