Medieval Times

In the Medieval times a lot of culture and art and history was lost, it was also called the dark ages for that reason. Many wars happened and there were many kings that were recorded in history and are now famous, such as King Arthur and other kings. Wars were fought with swords, shields, arrows, and many of the people then believed that magic was also used. The people from then also believed in many tales and mythical beings such as dragons, griffins (also spelled gryphon), magicians, oracles, witches, and other mythical creatures. They also believed that there were heroes that had slain creatures or mythical beings such as medusa and dragons. The way I see it, it was an interesting time period in history many legends, many facts, myths, maybe a few even were actually true and I’m happy I chose this time period to learn about and make a report on.

Back in Medieval times kings always wanted more and more power but other kings were satisfied with what they had and just wanted to protect therefore they would declare war on the other kings that were trying to take their land. These wars were often bloody and gruesome due to the fact that all wars were close range not including the archers, but archers did still get slain usually by other archer but sometimes but swords. Still most knights used swords and shields and some used archery in fact only the most dedicated and worthy of archery actually used the ancient skill of bows and arrows. These wars often lasted months due to the fact that it took longer to locate the enemy because there was no technology or get to them faster. Also the king went to war also and they didn’t just sit there on their horse and watch the war, oh no they fought to and they fought bravely and nobly just like their men only the evil kings would not fight. It was also believed that magic was used in these wars and that it was the one that sometimes won the battle. It was believed that mages were brought into battle and kept secret while they enchanted spells and weapons and killed the enemy with spells. Well those are the three main weapons that were said to be used in wars and other info on wars of the middle ages.

Well that is my report on the medieval times of Europe thank you for listening or reading (which ever applies to your situation) and as you can see these times were interesting and also mediocre. The myths, the kings, the wars, and the known facts are all very interesting.
