“ … Even those who have never been to these wonderful streets and squares love it, and proud of it,” said a former president of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin at the official ceremony on Moscow City Day, September 2, 2006 (proquest.umi.com). The Greater Moscow city which was built in the 18th century is one of the best and most beautiful tourist destinations in the world today. It is the biggest city in Europe, and the capital of Russian Federation. This beautiful, political, historical and cultural center of Russia is found between the continents of Europe and Asia. The biggest mountain, Ural, which divided the two continents, is located to the west side of Moscow. The Volga River, which is well-known throughout the world, is running down to the southern region of the father land. However, it is seen in the east side of the city (lonelytravel.com).Volga has been mentioned in the Russia’s beautiful descriptive literatures, consequently, because of its nobility. The objective of this essay is not to inform readers about the entire history of Moscow or Russia, but to focus on three things: tourist attraction sites, transportation systems, and hotels.

First, losing an opportunity of visiting Moscow could be considered like missing one part of a life. Tourist attraction places of Moscow city like the National Palace (Kremlin), Red Square, Moscov River, Polklonnaja Mountain, and the heart and mind grabber, St.Basil’s Cathedral are among the front runners of Russia’s core historic and symbolic sites. As heritage of this patriot nation, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Novodevichy Convent, Bolshy Theater, and State Tretya Gallery are the other most visited tourist places in Moscow metropolitan area. Kuskova Estate, Ostakin Tower, Square of Europe, the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, and Moscow State University are found in this historic city in the middle of Europe, and Asia. Since Moscow is divided into four circle locations, and the majority of tourist attraction sites are found in the first block, it gives the advantage of foot walking access for tourists to visit those landmarks of the brainchild of Russian (Lonelytravel.com, Wikipedia.org).

In terms of using public transportations, Moscow is deeply recognized around Europe, not only as a biggest city of a single nation but also as the biggest subway city in the European region. Russian’s and the majority of its residents have been using subways, buses, trams, monorails, trolleys and, even bicycles for their daily life in Moscow. For instance, 9 million passengers depend on Moscow Metro system every day which has 177 mostly underground stations. Certainly, that position gives the benefit of easy and inexpensive riding opportunities for tourists. Besides this, luckily, Moscow has five standardized international airports: the oldest, Vnukovo; the second largest, Sheremetyevo; the busiest in passenger and cargo traffic, Domodedovo; and the other two, Bykovo and Ostatievo are hosting tourists who are coming from all over the world every day. The neatness and perfection of the Moscow subway system is a role model for others who are running or providing the metro transit system for their residents in major cities. Remember, don’t forget to enjoy the beautiful, the biggest, and the busiest city of Moscow by riding the city’s beloved Metro system (Worldmark, Encyclopedia of the Nation).

I had a roommate in the military who was from Russia and I opened this out of curiosity. Are you recommending one visit Russia but warning them to plan carefully for expenses?
