Moving Through The Great Depression of 21st Century with Peace and Confidence

I would like to start by saying that depression isn’t great. And really, the truth is that we aren’t in a depression. But many of us are really depressed right now because we are filled with fear due to the state of our country and our world. My question to you is, how much of your fear is based in a real, current situation and how much is based in fear of a future that may never happen?

I would like to start by saying that depression isn’t great.  And really, the truth is that we aren’t in a depression.   But many of us are really depressed right now because we are filled with fear due to the state of our country and our world.  My question to you is, how much of your fear is based in a real, current situation and how much is based in fear of a future that may never happen?

We have all heard the famous statement spoken by an American President in one of this nation’s darkest hours; “There is nothing to fear, but fear itself!”

Truer words were never spoken.  If you take a really deep look at your life, much of what you fear is the future, events that have never happened.  Some of those things might happen and most of those things probably will not happen.  But there is no reason to succumb to fear.  There is another saying that 99% of all the things we worry about never happen!  Fear is a distraction.  It allows you to procrastinate and avoid the things that will move you forward.  And fear feeds upon itself.  The more fear you experience, the more you are afraid.  It actually builds in the physical as well as the emotional body and creates a state of stress.

I would like to offer you a very powerful tool to move through your fear and depression.

The bottom line is that this is a time to connect with your community, to do what you can to improve the world.  When you are thinking of others, of how you can contribute, of ways to create peace and harmony in your own life, you are not thinking about the future in a fearful way.
