Mycenaeans-info
The Mycenaeans is an Ancient Greek Civilisation.
It was the last in the Bronze Age, and is the historical setting of the epics of Homer and other Ancient Greek literature and myths. The Mycenaeans got its name from the archaeological site of Mycenae in northeast Argolis, which is in the Peloponnese of southern Greece. Athens, Pylos, Thebes and Tiryns are other famous Mycenaean sites.
This civilisation flourished from 1600 BC all the way to 1100 BC, where the civilisation started to collapse. Many people attributed the collapse to the Dorian Invasion, although archaeologists and historians do not believe that such invasion took place. The major Mycenaeans city-sites were Mycenae and Tiryns in Argolis, Pylos in Messenia, Thebes and Orchomenos in Boeotia, Athens in Attica and Iolkos in Thessaly.
