For me one of the greatest speeches in history is Martin Luther King. “I have a dream”. He was one of the pivotal leaders of the American civil rights in (January 15, 1929- April 4, 1968). He fought for justice all his life. (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). When I sat down and listen to that speech it brought back painful memories. I had tears in my eyes, because it’s like his words brought me back history all over again. When you think about all those slaves that were being sold like they were some item in a store. Black people weren’t allowed to do many things.

My examples are:

1. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed”. What he is actually saying is whether you are black or white, all man was born equal. We should not judge any body because of the color of their skin.
2. “I have a dream that one day all my children will live in a nation where they will not judge by the color of their skin but by the content of their character”. He wanted all people despite their color to be treated as equal. He use words that would make you stop and say what if.
3. “I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of farmers’ slaves’ owners will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood”. His dream is that he wants everybody to come together as one and stop the racial injustice and live as brotherhood in peace as Gods children. What I realize is that all that was said in his speech has come to reality and although upon till now racism is still going on but people learn to tolerate each other better.
