Nazi Economic Policy Led to War

Nazi economic policy–corporatism with large deficit spending, led to world war. This is an essay on aspects of that phenomenon.

‘The Failure of Nazi Economic Policy to Prepare Germany for World War Two’-the topic of this essay, flies against prevailing winds of traditional opinion. That opinion was that Nazi economic policy of the 1930’s was a war based economy of supply side economics. The development of the autobahn, of the Volkswagen and a large military-industrial complex created a need for expansion at all cost with a mountain of national debt and hyper-inflation. Nazi economic policy was a prepare-for-war economy and they had little choice but to seek to conquer the world with the infrastructure they had developed in an implicitly non-renewable, ecologically insulting paradigm. Expanding national economies without self-reliant resource criteria implicitly may need to look abroad for resources. Sometimes non renewable economic expansion means a war of foreign resource acquisition becomes a choice, at other times it may mean some sort of seduction of a foreign government in order to remove their resources through other means. Rational and intelligent government transition into an ecological economic policy.

It was Adolph Hitler’s incompetence as a military strategist and implementer of tactics that doomed the Nazi war effort-he was an idiot at military knowledge required to prosecute an aggressive war of a scale such as Genghis Khan would have been challenged to win. Adolph Hitler was a twenty-eight year old messenger in the first world war with a troubled background. He served honorably in the war and was the victim of chemical attack in the trenches. Hospitalized he later said that his eyes ‘felt like hot coals burning through my head’. He would not let Germany use chemical weapons in round two of Germany versus Europe.

Supply side economics without a rational prospect for economic growth is something like borrowing large amounts of cash on a credit card while unemployed with the hope that a new business will bring in enough profit to pay off the debt. With only one in four small business start-ups achieving success its a bad gamble. The United States is itself addicted to such a gambler’s delusion that another trillion in stimulus spending will pay off, and try again when that fails.

Adolph Hitler was a very charismatic fellow to listen to. The German staff and intelligence core knew what they were doing when they sent the corporal over to infiltrate the German National Socialists Party. His voice in a normal speaking tone vibrated at the frequency of an angry, shouting man. Hitler mesmerized his listeners, yet he was a ’stuffed uniform’ picked perhaps by remote control elite interests interest in recovering position lost by the collapse of the German imperial government via a coup near the end of the first world war. With the Bolshevik success in taking over the Russian imperial government they were rightly concerned, and unfortunately sent their picked man Adolph Hitler to co-opt the German populist movement and thereby protect the situation of the upper classes. With such a motivating start for Hitler, and with the German S.A. storm troopers fueled to cut and slash their way through German society, the die was cast.
