Obama Fallen Super Star
President Obama has fallen faster than any super star in recent history. Like a meteor flying across a darkened sky, his flame has been diminished by the light of day.
It’s a common practice for people to build individuals up to a star and super star status then act surprised when they fall from the pedestal we placed them on. Some of the super stars most devoted lifetime supporters blame the public when individuals fall from their pedestals but most likely it is the fault of the star. Every person on earth is responsible for his or her own actions. There are consequences we must pay for our actions. If we mislead or lie to a friend we will most likely lose that friend. At one time in America a politician could lie to the public and we would say, “Oh well, just another politician we shouldn’t expect anything more.”
President Barack Obama is finding out those days are gone not only in America but in other nations around the world. The midterm elections made it clear that America has rejected the President and his policies. By voting out his party we sent a message that we believe he mislead us and we will not accept it anymore. In his recent G20 Summit in South Korea he was soundly rejected by every member. He not only walked away empty handed when he tried to get other members to condemn China, they instead criticized Obama for the Bernanke plan that will depreciate the dollar. He also lost in his effort to finalize the bilateral trade agreement that began in the early part of the Bush era. At the London G20 Summit Obama was treated as a rock star and other members fought to have their picture taken standing next to him. At Seoul it was President Obama reaching out for individual talks and meeting.
Today Americans are starting to feel like passengers on a leaking cruise ship with a captain and crew from Harvard whose only knowledge of boats was the rowing team. We have changed the crew but the captain is still standing at the helm shouting “Stroke, Stroke.” The engine has stalled, the ship is leaking and the sharks are gathering. If the captain doesn’t listen to the new crew, restart the engine and plug the leaks it won’t be long before the ship goes down.
A good example of an inexperienced captain is how Captain Obama chartered a course for Health-care Reform, Stimulus Spending and the failed Energy Reform Bill. After chartering this course he turned the helm over to his 2nd in command Nancy Pelosi and her 2nd mate Harry Reid. Captain Obama never again checked the course until, like the Titanic hitting the iceberg, the ship started leaking and the engines lost power. With the coming debate on whether to extend all of the Bush tax cuts or risk letting them expire President Obama is again acting like an inexperienced captain relying on the 2nd mate to decide if we should abandon ship or restart the engines.
