Obama Fallen Super Star

President Obama has fallen faster than any super star in recent history. Like a meteor flying across a darkened sky, his flame has been diminished by the light of day.

Americans do not relish watching a super star as his star begins to burn out, especially when the super star is our President. However we will lay the blame squarely on the individual when blame is warranted. For 2 years the captain and crew of this leaking ship have blamed President Bush and everyone else they can find for failures in the navigation of their ship. After watching this crew in action we have finally decided its time to lay some of the blame on this captain and crew.

When the Gulf Oil Spill happened it took President Obama 12 days before he visited the area. He lay all of the blame for the spill on the BP Oil Company and boasted the government was in charge. He also insinuated negligence was involved and he would not rest until it was resolved and everyone made whole. President Obama appointed a commission to study what happened convinced they would find BP fully at fault. The commission found there was no fault on the part of BP and there was no negligence or cost cutting that had taken place before or after the accident. It also came out that in an effort to show support for the President’s deep water drilling moratorium documents that were submitted before a Congressional hearing were falsified. The Administration called it a simple clerical error. The President’s moratorium cost thousands of people along the coast their jobs and an untold amount of income.

In his book the Governor of Louisiana Bobby Jindal describes how the president took him aside on the tarmac and complained about a letter Jindal had wrote requesting authorization for food stamps for those who had lost their jobs because of the spill. Jindal quotes the President as saying, “Careful, this is going to get bad for everyone.” When Governor Jindal voiced concerns for the economic impact from the Obama moratorium Jindal quotes Obama as saying, “I understand you need to say all of this, I know you need to say this, that you are facing political pressure.” Jindal writes Obama’s, “Political posturing becomes more important than reality” during the crisis.

So who is to blame for Obama’s rapid fall from super star to mortal being, Barack Obama. As a worldwide super star Obama has fallen faster than any star in recent history. Like a meteor flying across a darkened sky his flame has been diminished by the light of day. Because we are a forgiving people and we want our Presidents to succeed President Obama has one more chance to reignite his flame and take control of the ship. The next few weeks will let us know if he is willing to take control and charter a new course. If he fails again we will not be so forgiving in 2012.
