Obama’s Second Front War

Will we have to arm the southern border?

In an earlier post I defined Obama’s war, the upcoming one in Afghanistan that could possibly be longer and more costly in terms of life and money than Johnson’s war.  And as if that isn’t enough we have one brewing that may eclipse Johnson’s War (Vietnam), Bush’s war (Iraq) and maybe even Truman’s war, Korea or FDR’s war.  Those Republicans like Bush, Truman, Johnson, and FDR are great in getting us into wars.  As an aside, the Bush war death toll is less than one fifth of the lowest of the others. Maybe Republicans know how to fight a war with less casualties.

But let’s get back to the second front.  BO is planning to get into Afghanistan and clean up that mess.  Hmmm.  I remember that one other world leader tried that some years back and lost his proverbial shirt and his Berlin Wall.  The army of the USSR lost to the Afghani and if BO takes the LBJ playbook of letting the MBA’s run the war the body bags will be coming home at 120 a week or more like they did when LBJ was leading the effort with McNamara and his wiz kids.  But while he is committing those troops there Mehico is getting into trouble.  The left wing lead a colophony of garbage about Iraq going into civil war before the 2004 election and that didn’t happen.  Hmmm.  It still hasn’t.  Democrats are good at fictional accounts.  They are not very effective prophets.  They need disasters to win elections even if they are conjured up and exist only in their minds.  One thing Chuck Schumer was good at was predicting bank failures but then his press releases caused the runs on the banks that helped those come to pass.  This kind of activity is called irresponsible anywhere but the donkey party.  It is also called how to steal an election.  God help Schumer if someone who lost big bucks in that figures out why it happened.

Mehico is in trouble.  Big trouble!  Within four years it is highly possible that we will need to arm the border, not to protect us from wet backs but from armed people killing our citizens.  If that happens there will be no forces to pacify Afghanistan.  The Mehican government is unable to keep the peace.  How long will it be till we have to arm the borders?  How long till we have to send troops into Mehico there to prevent Pancho Villa type excursions into Texas?

Only time will tell.  But the big questions are will BO take effective action and does he, a man who is essentially a military hater be able to figure out how to lead.

Joshua Chandler, a man from the days of the War of the Rebellion, who held Little Round Top at Gettysburg on July 2, 1663, and I might add, with little loss of life on the Union side and great slaughter of his enemy, refused a position to lead a regiment about a year before he took the Twentieth Maine.  He took the second position on the Second Maine and spent over a year learning how to lead men in battle by watching.  He refused to learn to lead men in battle and with their lives.  On that crucial day he did not sell their lives cheaply even though he was told to hold the hill even if it meant the loss of his whole regiment.  And the commanders were pretty sure it might take that.

It is a shame BO and Joe Biden didn’t recognize their deficiencies and resign.  They still can but they have the ego to stay when reason says they should let someone who knows what they are doing take the position.

If I were betting I would buy stock in a company that makes body bags.

I find it interesting that you name the wars after Republican presidents, and would like to point out a couple of things. Truman’s war was not so much Korea and against communism – and your problem with that is…. He also effectively stopped a world war, and set about rebuilding not only Japan but parts of Europe as well. Johnson’s war was begun by a democrat – Eisenhower, I believe. FDR’s war was engaged because this country was attacked, after four years of keeping America out of engagement. Just wanted to set the story straight on that score.

The rest of your article is rather sweeping, but makes good points and sure offers some food for thought. I, too, think BO is utterly unprepared for the consequences of what he is proposing – on many fronts.

well LBJ, Truman, and FDR were all democrats. Until bush Democrats started wars and we republicans had to come in and end them the right way. Nixon ended the Vietnam war, Ike ended the war in Korea, but when bush invaded Iraq, the shoe was on the other foot. and calling Mexicans “Wet Backs.” makes every anti-illegal-immigration person seem racist, we try hard enough to try to end that horrible rumor that we are racist because we are patriots. I just wanted to add that.
military speaking no one country can beat us. We spend 25 billion more a year on defense than the entire world does put together, politicians loose wars, not soldiers. if we do loose in the middle-east it will be because of Obama and his liberal allies. This entire “recession” was manufactured by Bush, Obama and special interests groups and secret societies, very few politicians are on our side, trust no one, question everything…

“I find it interesting that you name the wars after Republican presidents,”

Truman was a Democrat. Vietnam started under Kennedy and blossomed under Johnson, both democrats. We had a couple hundred military advisors with limited ability to fight (to defend themselves) under Ike. Johnson created the Gulf of Tonkin to get the nation into it. It was still FDR’s war….

“calling Mexicans “Wet Backs.” makes every anti-illegal-immigration person seem racist,” I am not. If some idiot left winger wants to think so have at it…

I am tired of them using words like undocumented – if they can lie about it I can use the proper term. WET BACK…
