Obama’s Stunning Anti-democracy Comments
In a canned speech to Indonesians, President Obama sympathizes with those feeling "Democracy can stand in the way of economic progress."

Perhaps emboldened by his return to his former home of Indonesia, American President Barack Obama gave a number of remarks that have added yet more fuel to the anti-Obama fires, and have left supporters of the president once again shaking their collective heads in disbelief.
Obama’s first misstep was a largely ignored and brief ceremonial laying of a wreath at an army base in South Korea as a way of marking Veteran’s Day. The ceremony occurred at night, with little fanfare, and almost indifference from the American President.
Obama appeared far more vocal and energized when declaring to an audience of Indonesians that the United States must stop fearing Islam. This puzzling declaration was then followed up by Obama’s even more enthused support of Indonesia’s version of Veterans Day, declaring his own step father and brother fought and died for Indonesian independence. Indonesia, said Obama, is a “great nation.”
Capping off this odd and seemingly borderline anti-American tirade, was President Obama’s stunning sharing of his understanding how many feel democracy “can stand in the way of economic progress.” He qualified the claim by explaining to the Indonesians that democracy is “messy”, and often one does not like the results mandated by elections.
Indeed Mr. President – Americans have not forgotten 2008…

First I’ve ever heard of Barry0’s “declaring his own step father and brother fought and died for Indonesian independence.”
I do not believe that to be true. At all.

I am sorry. I consider Mr. Obama the most unamerican president we have ever had.
I do not vote by race but it is a shame that a black man has shown himself to be so awfully unamerican. Whose side is he on anyway?

Oh boy, this comment just was like a cold slap in the face. Obama doesn’t have his share of supporters to begin with. Its looking unlikely that he’s going to even come close to getting a second term right now. Of course, no matter what context you read it this comment, it is still something that should not be said, no matter what.

“have left supporters of the president once again shaking their collective heads in disbelief.”
I don’t understand why they weren’t shaking their heads during the campaign. It’s not like this stuff just started after he took office. He made plenty of ant democracy and anti America statements during the campaign. What does he know about democracy anyway? He’s a Socialist leader or a Socialist country that is supposed to be a Republic.

All the guy said was that Democracy was messy and it is, (Fact)
But it’s still the best system of government in the world.
Obama didn’t cause the banking crises, don’t fiddle while Rome burns.

More right-wing propaganda. So what, he said democracy is standing in the way of economic growth, it is. Look at china, their economic growth is skyrocketing and will continue to do so (Are we all going to stop shopping at wall-mart tomorrow? nope.) So yes democracy isn’t going to bring our economy back, nothing is. When the rest of the world works for 1/8th of what we deem as fair, and make EVERYTHING we buy, how in the hell do any of you forsee a comeback? Please I’m waiting to here this stunning revelation, yelling about jobs?
Clearly the only solution to this in the republicans eyes, and their probably right, is just start a few more wars, decimate a few more cultures. Because we damn sure are not going to earn it by making inferior products, and demanding 18 dollars an hour to do so, because we wouldn’t be able to buy all the unnecessary crap Americans “think”they need. (Which is all made in China anyway)
As far as Obama honoring fallen soldiers, good. A dead man fighting for his country deserves the respect no matter what country he is from. American soldiers are not the only ones in the world that died with honor.
The little idiot Bush drove this country so deep into debt with his juvenile campaign against Osama (who is somewhere in a cave laughing at him.) His foolish cowboy antics alienated us to the entire world, shook up the hornets nest in Iraq once again, and reinforced the idea that you should think with your gut and not your brain.
Oh and why are you writing this as if indonesia is some great enemy of us? Why do republicans think everyone outside of our borders is some impending threat, these people are mostly peaceful friendly people, so why is it such an insult to you that our president payed them a compliment? Should he be holding hands with Middle eastern war mongers like bush did? Hes got more pictures hanging out with war criminals then Ava Braun.
So in closing, this is just another “omg Obama sneezed the other day, he hates this country!” Congratulations on turning a peaceful trip that helped us build a better relationship with this region into a twisted accusation of treason.
Love the republicans, they wont be happy till another mental midget gets us into an atomic war.
Keep fear alive, vote republican.

Since when is America a democracy? I don’t think our Constitution sets us up to be a democracy, god damn Americans are so stupid.
