Objective Insights on Adolf Hitler
This is an essay I wrote for a POLS class. IMPORTANT! In NO WAY am I justifying the horrible things Hitler did, just providing a different look into his mind and methods. Thank you.
Adolf Hitler: Grizzly or Water Bear?
Was Adolf Hitler a psycho mass murderer or simply a disgruntled artist? Adolf has been misunderstood since he was a child. In his mind, the Holocaust was justified. Hitler was not purely evil, as he did things that were for the good of his people. He chose to rule the Germans with an iron fist, doing what was necessary to lift the Germans out of their depression even if it meant murdering millions of innocent people along the way. What’re a few casualties for a good cause?
Killing millions of people is BAD. The Jews had money and possessed large political and economic powers post WWI. It all started when Adolf was living in Vienna. He was an aspiring artist just trying to make a name for himself in the field of fine arts. Four of the seven professors that rejected him from the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts were Jewish. Hitler then started to blame the Jews for his failure. This is mistake number one. If he was rejected by seven professors, maybe it was because he just stunk really horribly at art. I wonder if he ever once thought ‘Hey, maybe my work is just super crappy and I should try something else.’ Of course, when someone’s dreams are crushed, they’re going to automatically blame anyone but themselves. Seeing as a majority of the professors were Jews, he found it logical to blame them. Blaming other people is wrong and spineless but an easy out for some people. Seeing the Jews prosper as he walked around the streets in rags, with a change cup and feet in poor condition, made them an easy scapegoat.
Having relations with a family member is sick and morally blasphemous; however Hitler got away with it and even managed to keep it mostly quiet. His touchy relationship with his niece, Geli Raubal, is actually quite sick. He fell in love with his niece, yet continued to hit on a 17 year old store clerk named Eva Braun. Once Geli was spotted romancing with one of Hitler’s chauffeur’s, he was fired immediately. As a political figure, I wouldn’t think Hitler would put his name at such a risk, romancing with his niece. The love he felt for her caused him deep pain and confusion when she killed herself. I don’t blame her. Family relations are just wrong on every possible level. Perhaps if Hitler wasn’t so controlling of Geli, she would not have committed suicide. Her suicide just caused him more problems, politically. Some rumors were spread that it was murder, and that it was possibly Hitler himself that ordered her to be killed. He spent days pacing about without stopping to eat or rest. It’s nice that he’d found someone he loved, because everyone deserves to be loved, but did it have to be his niece? He was heading for a big position and I’d imagine that inbreeding was frowned upon even in that age of time.
